Police are investigat- ing a car theft that occurred between 9 p.m. and 2 a.m. on March 7 at a Water St pub. The owner went into the bar and upon return- ing discovered that a 1988 Dodge Lancer was missing. The car is a silver- grey four-door and is val- ued at $1,200. Stolen trailer Durham Regional Police are also investi- gating the disappear- ance of a 1997 Highland snowmobile trailer. The trailer was stolen from the Brock RV Trailer Centre on Hwy. 12 sometime between March 5 and 7. The white fiberglass trailer can hold two machines and is valued at $2,000. Polaris stolen Police are also report- ing that a snowmobile that had broken down ~ near the Nonquon River: and Lake Scugog was stolen. The owner left his1994 Polaris Storm 800 on March 9 around 7 p.m. Upon his return an hour later the machine was gone. Stolen from garage A black and red 1991 Skidoo was stolen from a Carnegie Ave. garage sometime overnight between March 3 and 4. Police say that thieves entered a garage between 9 p.m and 7 a.m. and took the machine out of the garage and down the driveway. The machine is valued at $4,500. Fire on ice Police are also inves- tigating a fire that occurred on Lake Scugog on March 7 around 7:45 p.m. A Stephenson Point resident saw a fire on the ice and after a closer inspection saw that it was a snowmobile burn- ing and called police. The fire was one- quarter of a mile out on the ice from the island. Break and enter Durham Police are investigating a theft that happened at Progressive Electric and Plumbing sometime overnight on March 2 and 3. Police report that the business located at the corner of Simcoe St. and Shirley Rd. was entered through the back door. Cash from the till was taken and a company truck was broken into and tools from it were strewn across the ground. It is unknown how much cash was taken and if any tools were taken. Stedmans hit Police report that the Stedmans store located in the Port Perry Plaza had cash stolen from a safe during store hours. Sometime between 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on March 9 someone went to the upstairs office, jimmied a lock and entered. + They then removed a quantity of money from the safe.
