Jim Paradine, manager of the liquor store in Port, said customers didn't ex- actly come flocking to his location, either. "We did enough to pay our wages and to keep the store going. When asked about the impact this may have on drinking and driving, the LCBO representative re- fused to comment. Scugog Administrator Earl Cuddie says he has no problems with both al- cohol outlets being open the extra day during the Christmas season. "There are no bylaws stating that alcohol can- not be sold on Sundays," said Mr. Cuddie. "There is an excellent RIDE pro- gram in place, and it is great from an economic point of view; it creates Jobs." Mr. Cuddie pointed out that there were no prob- lems with the two stores being open . on Holiday Mondays during the past year (1996) and only he doesn't see a problem when the two stay open an extra day for the second consecutive year.
