Concert's planned by Lions The Sunderland Lions Music Festival Committee will present a "Musical Concert" in the Sunder- land Town Hall on Satur- day, Nov. 2 at 8 p.m. The program will feature win- ners from the past 39 years of the festival and some surprises. There are hundreds of former students from Brock and the surround- ing communities who have competed in vocal solos, duets, trios, choirs, piano, instrumentals and bands. It was an exciting experi- ence and the professional adjudication received was invaluable. The Festival's modest beginning in 1957 by a rel- atively new Lions Club was sparked by a Brock Township music supervis- or named Jessie Pinkham. The present successful version of the Music Festi- val, with 10 days of classes and more than 900 en- tries, is possible because of the help of the community and many dedicated indi- viduals.
