The KFA, in conjunc- tion with the Ministry of Natural Resources, 1s startingits firstchapterin Scugog to look after not only Lake Scugog, but all of the lakes in the Kawar- tha Region. The group is hoping to attract anglers, homeown- ers and any other user of the natural resources to become members of the chapter, said Rev. Sandy Beaton, who is the chair- man of the KFA. Although the first chap- ter is set up in Scugog, members from other are- as, such as Victoria County are encouraged to take part. Recent government cut- back have seen jobs and funding lost for such pro- jects as maintaining natu- ral resources. Chapters such as the one in Scugog will help maintain and preserve. The studies and deci- sions these volunteers will make will impact on fu- ture regulation changes pertaining to new fishing regulations, slot limits, season lengths and ways to deal with the fishing pressure on the Kawartha Lakes.
