Almost 20 hours after setting - out on the lake Mr. Norrish was rescued by a helicopter from CFB Trenton and brought safe- ly to shore. It was a perfect day for fishing when Mr. Norrish and three friends set out for Jackson Point Friday morning. Hours later his friend Barney Joosten took the two others to shore and was to return with a propane heater for himself and Mr. Norrish to continue fishing. Before Mr. Joosten could re- turn fierce winds and blowing snow blinded him and forced him to shore. The wind was so strong it was spinning the three-wheeler Mr. Joosten was driving around in circles. Weather cancels Kinsmen races... again By Kelly Lown Port Perry Star The Kinsmen Club's annual sled dog races had to be cancelled for the weekend due to last week's January thaw. The club made the decision last Wednesday evening as the rain continued to fall on Scugog. Even with the forecast for cold weather and light snow for the area over the weekend, Mother Nature could not repair the damage in time for the races, according to organizer Dave Goldberg. Due to previously scheduled races in other towns for the remain- der of the season, there is no chance of rescheduling the event for Scugog this winter.
