Mayor Howard Hall re- ceived a letter from the MTO stating they hope to have the study complete by the end of the month. Council, however, feels the Ministry is putting the matter off and wants a re- sponse now. The study was request- ed in March to have the MTO review the opera- tions of Highway 7A through Port Perry. Councillors approached the MTO at a Good Roads Convention earlier in the year requesting a review of a number of traffic is- sues on Highway 7A, par- ticularly between Old Simcoe Road, through the school zone to Simcoe Street, citing safety rea- sons and traffic conges- tion. The study was also to look at ways to correct traffic problems at the Carnegie Street entrance to Highway 7A, where the blockage of cars needs to belooked at. The township was ex- pecting the MTO to visit the area in the spring. Council has sent a letter to the MTO to find out why it is taking so long to have the study completed and toinform them of their dis- . appointmentin the delay.
