Nestleton Presbyterian Church The regular Church service was conducted by Rev. Wm. Fairley at 11 a.m. with Joyce Taylor, organist. The ushers were Graham Ham and Oliver Rohrer; and Peggy Jones taught the Sunday School Class. Responsive Psalm was #30 and Scripture readings were from I Kings 13, and St. John 21. In the sermon Rev. Fairley spoke on the effect of tragedy in our lives, and how we reach un- derstanding, faith, with friends who strengthen and support. A Board of Managers meeting will be held next Sunday follow- ing Church Service. A social cup of tea and lunch was enjoyed in the Sunday School Room. The seventh annual Talent Auction at Blackstock United Church on Friday evening was just a great success with a large crowd and very keen bidding - in fact Wilma's butter tarts re- alized over $50. per dozen! Auc- tioneers Harvey Graham and his guest Arnott Wotten of Hamilton kept the crowd enter- tained and actively bidding all evening. These same two gen- tlemen will be the auctioneers next Friday at Omemee United Church talent auction if you wish to follow their fun and en- tertaining ways. On Thursday evening several from Blackstock Agricultural Society attended the annual District Four Spring Workshop at Lindsay Government Build- ing. Our President Lawrence VanCamp chaired one of the many roundtable discussion groups. On Thursday, May 4, Ellen Beal, Director of Saddle Horse Division, will hold an Open For- um for Saddle Horse exhibitors of Blackstock Fair. This will take place at the Rec Centre at 8 p.m. If you as an exhibitor have any ideas on how to improve the show, this 1s your opportunity to have input. Tell your friends. On April 6 we got together to make our shirts Jeans, hats, coats, etc. Thev were fun to make and didn't take long at all. They turned out great! Then on April 13, Gini and Don Masterson came in to show us how to make jewellery that their daughter makes. What a fun meeting! On April 20, we met at the church to make leather beaded necklaces. They didn't take long and were easy to make! To finish a wonderful club, we had our last meeting. We decid- ed to go ahead and make tie-dye clothing. We brought shirts, socks, and anything else we had that was white. After 15 min- utes in the dye, they were done. I'm sure they all turned out great. Thank you for such a great meeting.
