While here, she visited many other rel- atives and several friends. There were nine tables at the weekly Tuesday evening euchre party with the following win- ners - Merv Storrie, Jim Red- man, Harold Crawford, Mary Finney, Bernice Renton, Mary Cannon and Gordon Finney. Lucky draws were won by Har- old Crawford, Doreen Fergu- son, Bernice Wells, Charlie Campbell and Richard Manns. Ross and Irene Vanclief of Corbyville spent a few days last week with their friends Cecil and Marie Gibson. A large crowd enjoyed the Old Fashioned Christmas Concert held on Sunday evening at the Blackstock United hurch. This program which featured a large variety of numbers was sponsored by the Board of Ste- wards. The Snowflake Bonspiel will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 27 from 4 to 11 p.m., at the Black- stock Arena. Families are en- couraged to enter teams, partic- ularly when family members are back in this area visiting over the Christmas season, or students home from studies. The Blackstock Women's In- stitute met at the United Church for the Christmas meet- ing on Dec. 7 with 14 members and nine visitors oresent. The delicious Christmas pot luck dinner was enjoyed. Present were the 4H leaders and Rie Hoogeveen, caretaker of the cenotaph. Santa gave out gifts to the 4H leaders and the mys- tery sister gifts. It was a pleas- ure to have Flora Samells and her daughter Anna Powell with us. Flora gave the WI a plate which will hang in our meeting room. Business was dealt with. The collection of $100 will be given to the Salvation Army. On Sunday afternoon, at the Blackstock United Church C.E. Room, a delightful bridal show- er was held in honor of Janet Stevenson, bride-to-be of Law- rence VanCamp. Hosting this happy event were Anne Marie Williams, Lynn McLaughlin and Debbie Shrowler. After the bride was asked to don suitable "cow country" attire, Janet opened her many lovely gifts. She thanked everyone for their best wishes. A social time was enjoyed. The arrival of a baby girl last week created much happiness in several homes. Neil and Elaine Bailey are grins all over their faces when they became first-time grandparents with the arrival of baby Bailey, daughter of Tara and Terry Taylor. What a delightful Christmas present. Congratu- lations to all of you. Several members of the Beef Farm Management Club at- tended the agribition in Regina, Saskatchewan recently.
