"A Family Tradition for 128 Years" PORT PERRY STAR - Tuesday, December 6, 1994 - BS Tree farm kicks off the season What lovely fall-like weather we are still enjoying. Let's enjoy it, while we can. To put us in the mood for Christmas, Murcott's Christ- mas tree farm opened to the public last weekend, and will be open for the next two weekends from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Satur- day and Sunday, Dec. 10-11 and 17-18. Sales of Christmas trees this year will help raise funds for the Whitby Arena Fundrais- ing Association (WAFA), as well as the Brooklin Lions Club (the seeing eye dog project). WAFA will also operate the accessory store at the farm, selling tree stands, door knockers, wreaths, tree bags and other interesting items. Plan to take a drive out to the Murcott Farm to enjoy a hayride and a fun time with your family, as you select and cut your very own tree, as well as supporting two very worth- while projects. It's euchre night again on Thursday at 8 p.m. at the Com- munity Centre. Everyone wel- LCI | Ashton come, Next Sunday is White Gift Sunday at Burns Church. Chil- dren are asked to bring one of their toys as a gift for a child less fortunate than themselves. All gifts of food will be given to the Men's Hostel, Oshawa or gifts of money are sent to Evan- gel Hall Mission, Toronto. Grant and Sheila Parrott and Doug and Florence Ashton at- tended a dinner party with oth- er friends at the home of Joy Boyd in Oshawa on Sunday. Sharmen Porter travelled to Trois-Rivieres Quebec on the weekend, visiting Debbie Bat- ten. I understand Debbie will be home for the Christmas holi- days.
