"If you're gonna do it, you might as well do it right," said hospital board chair Kent Farndale said when the com- mittee who put together the Grand Masquerade Gala, held at Goreski's on Scugog Islana Oct. 15, assembled for a picture Friday morning. Proceeds from the event far surpassed a goal of $25,000 set by the committee, added hospi- tal board manager Debbie <«JcGarry. A full house of 160 came out for the event, which included a reception, dinner, auctions and draws, a magic show and danc- ing. Master of Ceremonies was CFTO sports announcer Lance Brown. "Club Mask" vacation draw winners were Lynda Parker, who received a $1,200 travel voucher, Robert Thiessen, who's going to Ottawa for a weekend, and Scugog Mayor Howard Hall, who's off to Niagara Falls. Pineridge is a women's chor- us which sings four-part harmo- ny unaccompanied. The chorus includes members from Port Perry, Uxbridge and surround- ing areas and meets every Mon- day evening at Uxbridge Music Hall at 7:30 p.m. New members are always welcome. The concert in Port Perry will be held at the Oddfellows Hall on Wednesday, Nov. 23 at 8 p.m. In Uxbridge, a concert will be given at the Uxbridge Music Hall on Friday, Nov. 18 at 8 p.m. Proceeds from these concerts will be donated to Port Perry Community Memorial Hospital and Uxbridge Cottage Hospital.
