Once again, those teams with a full compliment of players contin- ue to have an advantage as the league balance is determined by the rating system! Pizza Delight Devils 4 Fitzgerald Clippers 0 Game one saw a depleted roster for the Fitzgerald Clip- pers face a full team slate for the Pizza Delight Devils. The mere six skating Clippers gave it their best, but were no match for the Devils three-line attack and the Devils cruised to a 4-0 victory. For the Devils, Ken Smart Sr. and John Mackey each had a goal and an assist. Bill Foote and "Moose Hunter" Tim Ash- - bridge had singles with Steve Dunn chipping in two assists and singles to "Red" Steven- son, Bob Beveridge and Todd Healey. Jon Rensink, filling in for Devil's goaltender Doug MacSween registered the shutout. Taylor Aces 4 Harrison Blazers 4 Game two saw those amaz- ing Taylor Aces control the league-leading Harrison Blaz- ers as they played to a 4-4 draw. The Blazers struck first in this game but the Aces turned on the power to tie the first place Harrison squad, and without strong goaltend- ing by Ken Harman could have even captured the win! Todd Wilbur led the Tavlor attack with a pair of goals. Bob Beacock and Ken Little had a goal and an assist each. Rick: Campbell had two helpers with single assists credited to Wayne Norton, Mike Kane and "Legend" Sheehey. For the Blazers, it was Dave Milton with a pair and singles to Darcy Milligan and Marvin Stevenson. John Harman set up three Blazer tallies while single assists went to Milligan, Stevenson, Larry Jackson, Jim Park and, you guessed it, Jim Beatty! Crandell's Gamblers 5 Pineridge Phantoms 3 Game three saw the league standings tighten up as the Crandell's Gamblers grabbed another victory with a 5-3 out- ing over the Pineridge Phan- toms. The game featured a see- saw battle over the first two periods, but two Gambler counters late in the final frame sealed the important two points for the "Riverboat Crew". Carl Durham had the big game for Crandell's as he scored the hat trick and had an assist to boot. Steve Groves and Ken Jeffrey had a goal apiece. Mark Decosta and Rob- ert Evans notched two assists each whle singles went to George Gladish, Bryan Norton and Henry Forderer. For the Phantoms, Fred Moffatt found the net twice with a single by Brian Samis. Bill Van Camp and Wayne Hancock had single assists to complete the Phantom scor- ing. Monsma Chargers 7 Compton Comets 4 Game four saw the Monsma Chargers pull within a single point of the league-leading Blazers with a 7-4 decision over the Compton Comets. The Chargers were firing on all cyl- inders as 10 team members figured in the scoring parade in this important victory. Bill Bridge with a pair and singles from Paul Van Camp, Lee Wilbur, Dave Thompson, Jason Warner and Duane Bronson sealed the two points. Brad Hurst had three assists, while Warner and Bronson had two each and singles went to Van Camp, Wilbur, Jim Duncan, Tony Oxley and Rick Olaisen. For the Comets, it was two replies by Bill Weisflock and a single to Willy Edwards and "gunner" Doug Bache! Tom Barnes had three set-ups while Weisflock, Edwards, Dave Dickson and Mike McQuade each got credit for single assists. J&DHawks 10 Van World Sharks 3 Just when the scorekeepers thought things might settle down for game five, the J & D Hawks decided to go on a scor- ing rampage in search of their third win of the season and roceeded to blast the Van orld Sharks 10-3. The Sharks have really missed Phil Cochrane and Gary Lance from their lineup in the past few weeks and now an injury to defenseman Doug Seeley puts themin tough each game. The Hawk scoring fiesta saw Keijo Kinnunen with his first career hat trick, Rick Hope with a pair and singles by Joe Curran, Ed Olsen, Ritchie Le- fort, Doug Suppelsa and Carl Durwood. Durwood, Lefort and "Captain" Callery had three assists apiece, with two by "Pie" Jackson and singles from Curran, Suppelsa, Peter Lane and Chris Brain to com- plete the Hawk feeding! For the Sharks, it was Randy Prosser from Scott Da- vis and Steve Connors twice, and an unassisted counter by Ivan Geer. Don't be too quick to count those Sharks out yet. As anyone who has been around the league for a while knows, anything can and usu- ally does happen in the SHL, as the season progresses! Peterbo- rough came on strong in the first period outshooting Port Perry 20-2. Zack Fis was very busy in net letting in one goal in the first period. Dylan Harper and Mike Wiseman along with Garrett Brown and Mike Thompson were strong ondefense against a very aggressive Peterborough team. Second period Pineridge scored early with a goal by T.J. On Saturday, Oct. 29 at 12:30 p.m., Port Perry Minor Hockey will host an Oshawa Generals practice at Scugog Arena. This will prove to be an exciting event for all ages as this Junior A hockey club takes to the ice. The Oshawa Generals are bringing prizes with them to be raffled off during the practice.
