Ken Whiteley, Jackie Wash- ington and Mose Scarlett will be promoting their album "Where Old Friends Meet," which was nominated for a Juno award last year. The release kept the trio busy last year as they appeared at a dozen festivals and sales of the recording, featuring 16 tracks, were brisk. Scarlett, a baritone, is a 26- year veteran of the music busi- ness, and entertains with warmth and homor. He is an ac- claimed guitarist, who has toured across Canada, En land, West Germany and the United States. Washington, born in 1919, has been a staple of the Canadi- an music scene since he was five years of age. His work has been time achievement award from "the Ontario Arts Council. Whiteley has been called a "playing encyclopedia," because: of his vast knowledge of styles and his ability to play more than a dozen instruments. He has ap- peared on more than 80 albums as well as producing albums, which have collectively reached sales of more than three million copies.
