Penny read the previous min- utes in the absence of Betty Ashburn sale to benefit Rwanda Churches and individuals in Ashburn, Myrtle, Brooklin and Balsam are holding a yard and bake sale this Fri- day, with all proceeds going to Rwanda relief. The sale, which will take place on Friday, July 29 will begin at 9 a.m. Tables will be set up along the street on Reader. Betty Ann gave the treasurer's report. Do remember to sell your tickets on the quilt to be drawn in September. Plan to sell at dif- ferent locations in town. The arrangement for the booth at the fair. The theme this year is "the year of the family". All who promised to make cook- ies - don't forget for Sunday, Sept. 4. Gn The hall floors look beautiful, too pretty to walk on. Also, the new carpet on the platform is a great improvement. Also, the flower beds are lovely thanks to the cubs and parents, etc. Sure is nice. Marilyn Wallace came and gave a talk and showed pictures of her trip to India. Most inter- esting. Penny presented Mari- lyn with a small gift of apprecia- tion. September is Citizenship and Legislature, with Helen Hortop as convenor. We all enjoyed a nice lunch of angel cake with raspberries or peaches and whipped cream - punch was served throughout the meeting - nice for such a warm evening. Have a happy August.
