For students of Durham Region it is holiday time, children are happy, par- ents are making plans to keep them busy. Whatever the sum- mer brings for everyone, I hope you have a good holiday and safely return to your books on Sept. 6. The Youth Group was in charge of the outdoor service on Sunday with a good attendance. Music was provided by Keith Bacon and the "Ministry in Mu- sic" was by the Youth Group who sang "Multiply from Down by the Creek Bank". Well done to these young people who have become a very active part of the church life. A picnic lunch followed the service and then Kim Thomson and Janice Lee had a number of races and relays for the children and some of the adults. On Sunday afternoon, there was a rematch of fastball be- tween the Greenbank Gam- blers of yesterday and the Greenbank Cuties. Once again, it was a game of anything could and did happen. After five in- nings, the Cuties were victori- ous for the second time. The Cuties' lineup was Willing Wan- da, Friski FeeFee, Sassy So- phia, Main Street Sally, Siz- zling Susie, Luscious Lizzy, Bashful Bambi and Wilma the Whip. This fun game was a fundraiser for the Greenbank Hall and Park and, by an early count, they raised about $500. A big thanks you to the umpires who donated their time and also helped in the fund, also a big thank you to the community for their support. A draw for two tickets to a Blue Jays game was won by Joan Timms and Shauna Stone won a Greenbank Gamblers hat. To the Greenbank Gambler fans, the game scheduled for this Thursday, June 30, has been postponed so the team can get ready for a weekend tourna- ment in Waterloo with the first game Friday morning at 9 a.m. Congratulations to Dana Gib- son who graduated on the Dean's List from Sir Sandford Fleming College.
