Pancake supper on Feb. 15 It was a special treat on Sun- day for Greenbank United Church worshippers. The chil- dren of the Sunday School opened the service singing "We are the Church". We were pleased to see our Senior Choir back after a much- deserved rest. They sang "Lord Speak To Me" with Suzanne Lee singing the solo parts. At the prayer time, before the ser- mon, Rev. Shepherd sang "All The Way My Savior Leads Me". His sermon "They Who Wait For The Lord Shall Renew Their Strength". Every part of this service led us up to the spe- cial Covenanting of Church Of- ficers. It was a ceremony intro- ducing these officers to the church members. Even our first hymn "This is My Father's World" told us we are all part of the church, whatever office we hold. Our benediction is so very special "Go Now In Peace". Greenbank Fidelis Unit of UCW will be held in the church on Wednesday Feb. 9 at 1:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome. Rev. David Shepherd attend- ed a Special Day Apart on Sat- urday at Fair Haven. It was a G.I.LF.T. day for clergy and as a lay representative I enjoyed the day too. The title G.I.F.T. was "Growing In Faith Together". The guest speaker for the day was Rev. Clifford Elliot. He showed us how in our county, home and church - what our community is - how we some- times do not belong - but our Faith brings us together and how we can really live among everyone. Many ministers took part in this very special all day service. After dinner, we had a Holy Communion service con- ducted by Rev. Harding. His son played the flute for our hymns. It was a very special day apart for everyone who attended this Lindsay Presbyterial Retreat at Fair Haven. A Dream Come True!! Agajn we saw on TV the remarkable feat of Bill Lishman, "C'mon Geese", which was produced so very near us, in Scugog Town- ship. Purple Hill has become fa- mous as the home of "Papa Goose". It was so thrilling to watch him as he trained the goslings to follow him. No one has ever achieved just what Mr. Bill Lishman and his family have done. Congratulations again.
