Paul James Huffman, 38, was killed on February 4 when fire destroyed his home on Bromley Drive in a residential section of the city. According to the Northern News Services, firefighters were called to the home by neighbors at 3 a.m. When emer- gency crews arrived, both sto- reys of the 2,700-square foot home were engulfed in flames. .. A family member said Mr. Huffman was able to rescue his wife and children from the fire before returning to the building. One man, who lived in a base- ment apartment, escaped with- out injury, but Mr. Huffman was killed in the fire, area RCMP said. Mr. Huffman is survived by his wife Terry Rowlands, two children Kenneth and Kimber- ly, parents Ann Johnson and Sid of Yellowknife and Dale Huffman and Lorraine of Scu- gog Island as well as his brother John Huffman from the North- west Territories and sister Don- na Goodwin from Bowmanville. He will be laid to rest on Feb- ruary 10in Yellowknife. Mr. Huffman grew up on Scu- gog Island and attended Port Perry High School until he was 16, when he moved to Yellow- knife.
