Any obstacle or vehicle that interferes or hinders winter maintenance (snow removal, sanding etc.) will be removed or towed away at owners expense. All costs and charges for such removal, care and storage become a lien on the vehicle. This enforcement is permitted under Section 147, Subsection 10 of the Highway Traffic Act. Township of Mariposa Roads Department This past weekend saw the playing of the league's annual tournament at the Sunderland Arena with all six Port teams in attendance as well as others from Cannington and Oshawa. In the A final Woody's downed the Mob by a 4-1 total with the goals going to Charlie Dennis with a pair while singles went to Wayne Bowden and Brian McBridge. Ken St. Amant, Gene Woodrow, Bruce Woodrow, and Dennis drew as- sists. In Brooklin's 4-0 triumph over Woody's of Cannington it was Jim Mason notching a pair while Wayne Tate and Ron Att- wood got one each. Assists went to Attwood, Chris Tepine, and Broomball holds tourney Nick Attwood. Of the remaining teams 1n the league, B&R lost to the Mob in the A semi-final as did the Framer's being eliminated by Woody's. Blackstock lost to Brooklin in their B Division semi and Emmerson's were put out of C semi-final by the Sharks of Cannington. In the C final it was Lingar of Oshawa defeating the Sharks of Cannington. In ladies play the B final had Antrim down the Rookies 1-0 while the Misfits took the A Championship winning 4-2 over CA Steele. Emmerson/Swamp meet head on in Bantam H.L. action On Saturday, Jan. 22, km- merson Insurance and Swamp Auto Body met head on in local bantam house league action. The Swampers came out flying and went from the opening face- off down ice and quickly took a 1-0 lead, after only 30 seconds of play. Opening the scoring for the Swampers was Jeremy Gib- son, with Kris Wootton and Big Nick Skerratt picking up as- sists on the play. The Swam- pers opened up a 2-0 lead before the end of the first period as Ke- vin Edwards banged one home ~ from Nick Skerratt and Greg Bonser. Emmerson's came close in the second period as Bob Cracknell picked off an errant clearing pass but narrowly missed scor- ing as he ripped one off the crossbar. The Swampers came right back and made it 3-0 as Kris Wootton scored, with Jere- my Gibson and Nick Skerratt picking up the assists on the play. With a 3-0 lead, the Swam- pers played sound defence for the rest of the game, holding Emmerson shooters at bay. Swamper's goaltender Doug Short had a strong game in net as he picked up his fourth shut- out of the year. Also playing well for the Swampers were Aa- ron Levy, Noah Dorland, Ron Colvin and Jay Fletcher, who all had strong two-way games.
