Shuffleboard Club open house May 18 The Scugog Shuffleboard Club will host an open house on Tuesday, May 18. Members of the business com- munity, media, politicians, ser- vice clubs and the public are in- vited try the sport at the Scugog Arena from 7-10 p.m. Several local groups partici- pated in last year's open house and, as a result, numerous grudge matches are in the works. There is no charge to partici- pate in the open house. Equip- ment will be available and re- freshments will be served. The club was formed in 1992 and attracted 109 members dur- ingits first year. League play takes place Tues- days from 7-10 p.m. and Scugog Wednesdays from 1-4 p.m. A one-year membership is $25 (fee covers league play and all local tournaments). A daily membership is also available at $2.50. The 1993 executive, elected at the annual general meeting on Wednesday, May 5, includes President Hugh Ormiston, Vice-President Neil McLeod, Secretary-Treasurer Doris Not- tingham, and Honorary Chair- man Frank Willson. The Board of Directors in- cludes Ron Douglas, George Skerratt, Jack Geer, Bert White, Lawrence Malcolm, and Bruce Mitchell.
