Catholic Women's League celebrates Allelulia! He is Risen!.This is the time of year when all Chris- tian faiths rejoice in the Risen Lord. We rejoice in Him all year long, but this season is especial- ly blessed. These 50 days of Easter remind us of how much the Father loves us. He sent His beloved Son, Jesus, to earth to join in all our sufferings and love. He humbly gave His life for us, so we may share in the fullness of eternal life. Happily, on Sunday, April 25, 1998, we the ladies of Immacu- late Conception C.W.L. cele- brated our 40th anniversary. Forty years of service to our church and Port Perry commu- nity. We can be found in all sec- tors, to mention a few: the Ar- thritic Society, Alzheimers, Cancer, Heart and Stroke Socie- ties and Palliative Care. Here, and many other local organiza- tions, we act, as volunteers, as well as contributing monies. Our ladies are hard working and dedicated, it would seem no job is too small or too large for them to tackle. I am sure over the years, they must have felt overwhelmed, as one pressing situation after another were placed in their laps. Thankful- ly, with the Grace of Jesus, they persevered, and continue to do 80. Our evening commenced with Mass at 5 p.m. in the church fol- . f ] lowed by supper.at 6 p.m. in Im- maculate Conception Hall. We were very pleased that the group "Jazzmerize" entertained at the Social Hour after supper. This group consists of youn adults from Port Perry Hi School, under the direction of . "Mr. Charles White. They have been an ongoing feature of the high school, have beén in- vited by the "Canada Music Fest" to compete in Edmonton, Alberta.
