Ward 3 Councillor Ken Gadsden was not at the meeting. Following the meeting, Coun- cillor Dietlein told the Port Perry Star he voted against the budget to reinforce the need to keep spending down. Although content with the 0.894-per cent increase, he said he would have preferred a zero- increase. He said he felt obligat- ed to call for no increase r campaigning for it during the 1991 election. Mayor Howard Hall said he was pleased with the budget, saying the slight increase was "fantastic." He praised the staff members for setting realistic goals during the budget process.
