Saturday, Oct. 3 Big V met Larocque. Big V came out on top by a big 8-1 win. Scoring for Big V were Jamie Sauter twice and each picking up a goal were Mark Sauter, Eric Beiers, Jeremy Gibson, Jay Fletcher, Lisa Bonser and Kent Johnston. Assists went to Ja- mie Sauter with 3, and 1 each to J. Fletcher, J. Gibson, Lisa Bonser, S. Harper and K. John- ston. Putting the only marker on the board for Larocque was Chris Jamieson assisted by Paul Shrigley. Doug Short played a strong game in the net for Big V. Game #2 on Oct. 3 had Emiel's victorious over Scala 4- 0. Scoring for Emiel's were Blaine Kinnunin set up by Joh- nathon Froats; Ryan Puckrin assisted by Kevin Edwards and Blaine Kinnunin, Tyler Wooten unassisted and Kevin Edwards from Spencer Bidell. Game 1 on Saturday, Oct. 10 resulted in a big 10-2 win for Big V over Scala. A big day in the scoring circle for Jay Fletch- er as he notched four goals for Big V. Assisting to the goals were Dave Crouter, Jeremy Pare and Kevin Edwards. Saturday, Oct. 17, Game 1: Emiels and Big V battled to a 4 all tie. Putting Big V on the scoreboard first was Justin Sheehey on a pass from Lisa Bonser. Responding with a goal for Emiels was Josh Martin on a pass from Alex Bidell. Big V then put three goals on the board, one by Justin Sheehey and 2 by Jeremy Gibson. As- sists going to Lisa Bonser, J. Fletcher and Mark Sauter. Emiels then turned the fame around with 3 unanswered goals. First Luke Newman hit the mesh, assisted by Jonathon Froats and then Ryan Puckrin sent it in twice to tie it up. As- sist to Dave Crouter. Game 2: Sat. Oct. 17 was a see-saw battle that ended in a 5-4 win for Scala over La- rocque. Scoring for Scala was Travis Pickard twice, Shane Savage, Brad Monsma and the winning goal was scored by Ashley Van- shelvin. Assists to Ashley Van- shelvin and Tom Keeble each with 2, and singles to Chris Orr, Shane Savage and Paul Brian. Putting Larocque on the score- board for a big hat trick was Chris Jamieson and the single goal was scored by Ben Steven- son. Assists went to Ian Parlia- ment with 2, Alex Wordley with 2 and Daniel Lee with 1. We all wish Daniel Lee a speedy recov- ery as he broke his wrist in this game. Best wishes from all of us Dan! Next week's action is Emiel's vs. Scala at 7:20 p.m. and Big V vs. Larocque at 8:40 p.m. The Port Perry Bunnys bounce onto the ice With many smiles, lots of an- ticipation and hearts of gold, the Port Perry Bunny Program bounded onto the ice. Holly Allison, Ceildh Baxter, Marci Burger, Jenna Davison, Caylie Gilmore, Heather Imrie and Marta VanCamp took to the ice. Coach Gord, Coach Ken, and Coach Mark guided the girls back and forth, up and down, around and around the ice with some skating exercises, some ring carrying and some passing drills. Immediate improvements were noticed by the parents (all with broad grins) as the girls took to mastering the game of ringette. The future looks bright for Port Perry Ringette with the ability these girls have shown already.
