Absent: Jennifer Jones. Hockey tryouts begin The 1992/93 season for Port Perry Minor Hockey gets under- way next Tuesday evening at Scugog Arena. Power skating/ skill evaluation/tryout sessions are first on the program, with initial ice times for each age group as follows: Tuesday, Sept. 8 - 5 p.m. - Mi- nor Atom (born 1982); 5:55 p.m. -Major Atom (1981); 7 p.m. - Mi- nor Pee Wee (1980); 7:55 p.m. Major Pee Wee (1979). Wednesday, Sept. 9 - 5 p.m. - Minor Novice (1984); 5:55 p.m. - Major Novice (1983); 7 p.m. - Pee Wee - Group 2 (as deter- mined Tuesday, Sept. 8); 7:55 p.m. - Minor Bantam (1978); 9 p.m. - Major Bantam (1977); 9:56 p.m. Midget (1976 and 1975) and Juvenile (1974 and 1973) The complete schedule was distributed at registration and a copy of it will be posted at the arena The first ice time for the Tykes (born 1986 and 1987) is Saturday, Sept. 12 at 12:30 pm. and for the Advanced Tykes (born 1985) it is the same day at 1:25 p.m. Power skating for these groups will take place during the Christmas holidays. Players not yet registered are urged to do so prior to the first sessions next week. They may do so tomorrow evening (Sept. 2) at the arena between 7 and 9 p.m. Full rates now apply. The base fee is $195 for one player, $340 for two players in a house- hold, and $485 for three or more. Tykes and Advanced Tykes are $145 each. In addi- tion to the base fee, there is a fundraiser charge of $40 per family for twenty $2 draw tick- ets. The $40 may be recovered by selling the tickets to other people. Parents and players should bear in mind that players must be registered before they can go on the ice, and that full equip- ment must be worn at the power skating sessions.
