Easter News Stan and Wylma Allin, Newcastle, hosted an Easter family dinner on Sunday. Those attending from Nestleton were: Glenn and Arlene Malcolm, Heather, Alison and Erin. So sorry, Erin had a fall last week at gymnastics practise and suffered a sprained ankle, and is still on crut- ches. Our best to Erin for a com- plete recovery soon. Visiting with Chuck and Carol Hill and family of Scugog Point, for the Easter celebration were her parents Bill and Helen Leaney of Sault Ste. Marie, and Murray and Susan Hill, Greg and Sarah of Goderich. Lawrence and Gwen Maclolm of Nestleton, entertained their family over the Easter weekend. Barry and Joan Malcolm, Emily and baby Paul Stanley, Simcoe, were Thurs- day to Sunday guests. Dennis and Laina Malcolm, Joyce, Leta and Aric were Friday and Sunday guests. Bonnie Bilton and family were Sunday overnight guests. Glenn Malcolm and family and David Malcolm and family, were also recent guests. Glad that Gail Malcolm is able to be back in her Port Perry apartment following a brief sojourn in hospital. Mrs. Neta Fish, Cadmus, held a family Easter celebration on Satur- day evening. Those attending were Jim and Audrey Leishman and William of Reaboro, and Calvin and Yvonne Holland, Chad, Craig and Alanna of Cadmus. Mrs. Marlene Bannister, Peterborough, was a guest on Monday. A warm welcome home to Russell and Edda Bowman of St. Christopher Beach, who returned home from Panama City Beach this past week, after a busy, enjoyable winter in the south. A great welcome home to Norm and Bernice Mairs, Fleetwood Trailer Park, Janetville, who returned this past Tuesday after a winter of many activities to add pleasure to the season in the south. Happy Anniversary Dave and Leah Frew of Nestleton, celebrated their 25th wedding an- niversary in style this past Saturday evening, April 18, with the festivities held in the Blackstock Rec. Centre. A fine attendance of relatives and friends present to help celebrate this joyous event! Our "very best wishes" to Dave and Leah for many more happy occasions! Nestleton United Easter Service On a lovely spring morning, April 19, greeters at the door were Lawrence and Gwen Malcolm. Many worshippers were on hand for this special Easter celebration. Many young couples were present. The service opened with the Proces- hr SH SR ANN tion of superintendent Joanna Malcolm, sang two numbers in fine form and applause greeted them at the close. Pianist Katie Mairs. The senior chior sang a lovely Easter medley with Carol Mairs pianist. A great number of children went for- ward to enjoy Rev. Davis' time with them. Previous to the Easter service...a Good Friday service was held at Nestleton United for the charge...a very solemn service with many tak- ing part from both churches with Rev. Dale Davis in charge. Nestleton Presbyterian Church In a beautiful setting of Easter Lilies and Mums, Rev. Wm. Fairley conducted the service, in Nestleton Presbyterian Church at 11 a.m. Psalm 115 was read in unison, and scripture readings were from Isaiah 35 and St. Luke 24. The book of the Bible for the Sunday School was Col- ossians and in the story a lesson on the cross re - the "Hot Cross Bun" signified the bodily consumption for our nourishment as does the cross where Christ was crucified gives us strength and faith to nourish our spiritual needs. In the sermon, we are to go for- ward through all our troubles and doubts to greet a Risen Saviour. Joyce Taylor was the capable organist for the service. Next Sunday, Rev. Freeman of Beaverton and Cambridge will preach in Nestleton and Rev. Fairley will be in Beaverton Church.
