In fact, the Optimist Club's motto is "friend of youth." Speaking to the small, but exuberant gathering, Mr. Wick explained the aims of the Optimist Club and why the Brooklin Optimist Club would like to sponsor a Club in Port Perry. Seven men and women from the area were signed-up to establish a local club prior to Saturday, and more agreed to join following the meeting.
