Mon ay night, an understaffed Country Style team hosted Lind- say, who were fresh off a 4-3 home win against Port last week. The account of this game is second- hand, as even the reporter was absent; but the visitors jumped into a quick 2-0 lead when Steve Richmond netted a pair in 19 seconds early in the first. Port came back with two of their own before the period ended: Jay Tredway got the first from Joe Broadworth and Jeremy Norton, then Tredway and Jay King set up one for Sean Ellis. Lindsay opened up a lead again early in the second, but Ellis' se- cond, from Tredway and Broad- worth tied it in less than 20 seconds. Ellis then completed his hat trick, assisted by King and Tredway to give Port their first lead. Lindsay tied the game with 3:52 to play but a determined Port team kept coming and Jason Phillips fired the winner at 3:03 on an assist from Ellis. Mike Pashley held the fort as the tired skaters battled for the slim vic- tory over the final minutes. Tuesday night, the Country Style crew was on the road in Cobourg and the effects of seven ames In four days finally came into play. Despite a strong game from the Broadworth, Ellis, Tred- way line; Port surrendered three late goals and fell 6-3. Pineridge Atom Bs close out season play with a win, loss and tie The Pineridge Atom B team came away with a win, loss and tie as they had a busy week clos- ing out their regular schedule. heir first match up was Pickering. They have always been a strong contender but this game belonged to anyone as both teams suffered plenty of penalties giving way to power plays and penalty killing for much of the game, particulary the third period. Port hung in there with a tie at one a piece till midway through the third period when Pickerin opened up and took the corner o the net and put it home. The score remained 2-1 as neither team could make an honest effort at scoring. Our lone marker came when Dave Gainey rushed the uck and foiled the goalie. Draw- ing the assist was Glenn MeLready. The following night Port head- ed north to Sunderland for action. Although Port was in less than rfect form, they quickly took he lead with two goals. However, Sunderland was determined to match Port for markers as it was apparent Port's hockey sense was not paying off. Second period end- ed with a 3-3 tie. Third period opened up and the line of Bruton Jones and McQuade notche three more goals to securely put this team away. Scoring in this game was Ryan McQuade with two goals and two assists, Adam Hobbs three assists, Chris Jones two goals, Scott Sanderson one goal, one assist, Greg Bruton two assists and Ian Parliament one goal. On Thursday night Port hosted Uxbridge to close at the season. On this night Uxbridge capitaliz- ed as Port appeared to be in a scramble for much of this game. Uxbridge neatly took a 1-0 lead away from Port and ended the se- cond period with a one goal lead. Port should have been on their way to a victory but they were also plagued with a record high in penalty minutes. Port managed to come away with a respectable tie when Ryan McQuade was found all alone and let one go upstairs. Goaltenders Savage and Chambers were instrumental in keeping Uxbridge from doing any further damage. _ Also scoring in this game was Scott Sanderson when he ac- cepted a pass from Ian Parlia- ment. Drawing an assist was Adam Hobbs. The Pineridge boys will con- tinue to practice as the playoffs schedule gets underway. Forder-Parks Insurance Brokers Inc. G.1.C.
