"This is an annual fundraiser for the Prince Edward Point Bird Observatory," says producer Janet Kellough. "It's also part of Birding Prince Edward, the 10 day bird- ing festival that spotlights the huge numbers of migra- tory birds that flock to Prince Edward County in the springtime." The festival this year spans 10 days, from May 13th to the 22nd, with numerous activities scheduled through- out. "We've got a really great line-up for the concert this year," Kellough says. "I'll be on hand to tell a few Continued on page 12 local people and events Milford Easter Parade largest yet A pink Easter Bunny driving a purple jeep led over 100 children along with their families and friends from the Milford Town Hall to Mount Tabor on April 15th. The children wore all sorts of wonderful costumes and many had decorated their bicycles. Babies in strollers and wheelbarrows filled with lots of bunnies, chicks, flowers and eggs joined in the 4" Annual Easter Parade. Strolling musicians were a new treat this year and every- one enjoyed seeing the goats, chickens and lamb that joined the parade too. There were lots of eggs to find during the Easter Egg Hunt and more candy was hiding inside the Mexican pinata hanging in the gazebo. Then it was time to gobble a BBQ hotdog or two and perhaps some pop or hot choco- late. To top off the day, Family Bingo was played back at the Town Hall. "We've enjoyed tremendous success with the maga- zine, says publisher Christine Renaud, "so I want readers to know that we're not changing the essence of the content or our direction, just the name." Upfront will continue to focus on the vibrant art scene and events in Prince Edward County, explains Renaud "but additionally, we're looking to become involved with the Kingston market - sort of twin cities idea, though the maga- zine will remain predominantly a County publication." Renaud feels that, while people do, of course, visit from Kingston, many more could be coming and hopes to promote events to Kingston through upfront. "Also, many County people enjoy visiting Kingston and they might like to know about specific happenings there as well. I know we al- ready have Kingston readers who enjoy our magazine and I think we could have many more."
