-- L ~The South Marysburgh Mirror| Milford in Bloom Country Garden Tour Lots of people headed to the Milford Fairgrounds on June 19" to start the Country Garden Tour. Fresh dai- sies from Flower 'n Such identified the guests as they vis- ited the 8 locations on the self-guided tour. The sunshine and gentle breeze made it a perfect day for strolling in the beautiful gardens so carefully prepared by their owners. The Milford Bloomers send a big thank you out to: Carolyn Lecker, Doug & Sharen Sheppard, Diane Walker, Gillian & Doug Parker, Harriet & Pieter de Boer, Sherry McPeak, Aline & Bob Spires and Bob Cowan for their tire- less efforts during the June drought to keep their gardens looking fresh and colourful for the tour. Each garden had a wide range of plant material and special features on display and all of the gardeners answered a wide variety of ques- tions from the visitors. Treats were available at Walker's Greenhouse and refreshments were served in The Miller House garden. In addition to the Bloomers' baking, delicious goodies were provided by A&P, Black River Cheese, Celebrations Cater- ing and IGA. We thank them for their generous support of this new community event. Thanks are also sent to the friends and neighbours who became Bloomers for a Day and helped at the Fair- grounds and in the Gardens. Monica Alyea, Cheryl Weaver, Ken Koyama, Jim McPherson, Lenie Lenz, Bruce Dowdell, Barb Gates, Alison, Olivia and Rebecca Hicks, Ron and Trish Dubyk and Michael McGowan and Sasha "Warunkiw all volunteered to help the Bloomers with their first garden tour and without their help and moral support it would not have been such a lovely success. Garden Tour visitors were impressed with the many barrels of flowers along our roads and we are looking forward to seeing lots of photo entries in this year's Mil- ford Fair Flower Show. The Bloomers are thrilled with the support that the community and visitors from afar have given and are looking forward to continuing their efforts to foster civic pride, environmental responsibility and beauti- fication for the Greater Milford Areal AT : S7.
