Jean Burrows had a very interesting Thought For The Day. She filled us in on many things she experienced during the war - some of which are: gas masks, glean grain from a farmer's fields, wore hand-me-down clothing as clothes were rationed, long queues for everything, sound of bombs dropping, black-our curtains, American army vehicles threw candy to children as they drove by and Churchill's words, "We will fight them in the streets. We will never surrender." After the war there were VE and VJ parties in the streets to celebrate. We in Canada are very fortunate that we've never had to suffer the hard- ships of war. Secretary Gillian read the minutes of the April Meeting which met with the approval of the group. Card Secretary Margaret sent six cards from our mem- bers.
