After supper went up to George Col- liers to get examinate to get in the Lodge. There was 23 new members went in. Sat.3 Nice growing time now and plenty of rain I fited The orchard above the flats up a place back for corn and millet. Mon.5 Put some mangles, corn, beans and millet in back. Finished ploughing the orchard here. Pa and Ma went up to Annie Mauds after supper. Tue.6 I dragged the com on the point and Potatoes. Then ploughed the old orchard. June. 7 Commenced to plough the fifth field back for Buckwheat. After dinner Emmet and I fixed the fence from the Hog pen to the shore to keep the pig from going to the flats. i Sat. 10 I ploughed till noon very warm. After dinner Jack and 1 went up to the Valley to Mr. Minakers for a visit. June 12 I ploughed back Pa fixing up crates for the bees. Been quite warm to day began to need a little shower. Thu. 15 Ploughed with two team to day finished the fifth field and ploughed in the next field this after noon. After tea Pa, Ma, Stirling and i went down to the Garden set out some tobaco plant and cabbage plants put in the late cu- cumber seed. Everything looks fine in the Garden. Fri. 16 Pa and I ploughed back in the sixth field. It was very cool all day. We are very much in need of rain. June 17 We ploughed till noon. warmer again. Mary Ellen went up to Annie Farrington's going to stay and pick ber- ries. After supper I drove up to Jakes took him up some to- bacco plants helped set out some. On my way home stoped for lodge. Archie was there both our papers come back and we payed our first Assestments. Mon. 19 Pa and Ma went over to Picton I was all alone all day. Bees swarm went away again that makes three swarms gone away. Wed. 21 Cultivated the corn on the flats it looks fine . We are having very dry weather now. Wish we could get a nice rain. Thu. 22 Finished hoeing the corn at noon after tea I went up to Jakes to paint his buggy. Sat. 24 I Finished painting Jakes buggy. Stirling been up to Jakes helping him and S Rorke there keeping house for Lib while she goes picking berries. Mon. 26 Pa mowed the wheat and rake in the Peck Faller. I cultivated the garden out and watered the cucumbers they are looking great fine and set out some more tobacco plants. Tues. 27 Not feeling very well all day although worked dragged in the six field till noon. Then after dinner raked and piled up the stuff in the peck faller.Lawn Social at the Union to night Pa and Ma has gone down I am not feeling well enough to go. Thu. 29 Pa has been finishing up the road work tum piling around the corner back. Fri. 30 Uncle Jem Lowry is dead. He was burried to day.Pa and Ma was around. His death was caused by gass in a well.
