We are wait- ing for the land to dry so as to get our grain sowed. It has been very disagreeable about sowing this spring on account of heavy rains. 2. Sunday. It rained most all day. 3 Paw sold the Hogs. Took them to Bloomfield they come to $28.80 the roads were very muddy. Jake come out to night with the wagon. 4 It rained all day quite hard. Jake were here, We went down to Dan's. 5. Jake went home we traded Fred for Bell for a while and if both are suited we will call it a bargin. Paw and Archie and I started to build a lane fence down on the Flats. Ezra . Lighthall is here come home with Archie and Mary Ellen Monday. 6 We finished the fence a.m. And after dinner. Paw and I grafted. 7. We are having very nice weather now but are not able to work the land on account of rainy weather. May. 8 I went over to Picton. John Dulmage, Emma Hughs, Lillie Thurston, Myrtle Spafford and I went down to Jake's it was a nice warm drying day. 9. Sunday. I come home from Jakes. The roads were very dry and good. 10. I cultivated the sod over in the first field on the Flat. Af- ter dinner Archie cultivated it over again and I drilled in 8 bushels of Prince Wales Picton Peas. 11. 1 drilled in 8 bus of Prince Wales peas that makes 11 bus. In that field. Archie draged some in the second field and some in the lover field. 12. It rained all the fore noon the land was getting just fit to work again. And now it will be three or four days before drying if it don't rain. Stratten where here and stayed all night. 13. Paw went down to George Cannon after some strawber- ries. He got 100 sets and we set them out down in the gar- den. 14. I went down to Dans and ploughed for him. Archie Young Rex Hicks on the manure spreader dragged the orchard over. It rained some in the fore noon. 15 1 went down to Dan's with both team. And we finished up ploughing his corn ground. 17 Archie and I cultivated on the Flats. After dinner I sowed 4 bus of Barley. The land is just getting dry enough to work again. And most of the People are now just begin- ning to Sow. 18. Looked very much like rain all day. I drilled in the rest of Picton Peas 7 bus. And 3 bus of the common peas 1 bus of Barley in the Point field. 19. I cultivated the swamp over. Archie ploughed in the or- chard. 20. I sowed 15 bus of Oats Back.
