The ladies met at South Bay United Church Hall at 12:00 noon for their annual Christmas pot luck lunch. And what a lunch it was. Actually, it was a feast. The Meeting proper started t 1:30 p.m. with President Sandra Emlaw chairing the Meeting. She opened by reading about an 80 year old woman wanting to enjoy as many experiences as possible before she was done with this world. Our theme hymn, purpose and Lord's Prayer were re- peated by all. Reverend Jean had devotional which was to prepare our hearts for Christmas. This included the singing of sev- eral Christmas songs and the lighting of the advent can- dles. A prayer in the form of a blessing concluded the devotional. ' Seventeen members answered roll call by bringing a gift for an older child. Twelve sick calls were made and six cards sent. Secretary Maureen Rudd read the minutes of the Novem- ber Meeting which were approved. ts The ladies signed cards to be sent to some of our senior members. A thank you was received from the Murray Head family for catering to his 80th birthday party. Thank you cards were also received from Camp Quin - Mo-Lac and Hospice Prince Edward. It was reported that Quin-Mo-Lac has to make many repairs to their facilities. Brenda Minaker moved and Skip McCormack seconded that we donate $1000.00 toward this expense. Everyone was in favour since many of our children have enjoyed these facilities. Marge Drury reported that 39 shoe boxes were sent from our church for the Samaritans Purse. Our list of officers for 2005 are as follows: President - Sandra Emlaw Secretary - Irene Robb Treasurer - Joyce Minaker Vice President - Marge Drury Flowers - Robert and Pat York Reporter for Marysburgh Mirror - Alice Miller Donations were made for flowers for the church and also to the Marysburgh Mirror for the wonderful coverage they give for our events. Treasurer Joyce reported that we made almost double the amount on our luncheon in 2004 compared to 2003. Tabor She is joined by her band members, Pat Giunta and Fred Guignion for an evening of songs in folk-country, folk-rock and jazz flavours. Tuesday January 11th - Dixon Club will meet at South Bay United Church Hall at 12:00 noon for a pot luck lunch. Sid Drury is acting President, Dave Sinclair has devotional and we are going to be entertained with a special program. Wednesday, January 12th - U.C.W. will meet at South Bay United Church Hall at 1:30 p.m. Devotional - Alice Miller; Program -fill in 2005 schedule; Roll Call-Best Christmas Gift or Memory; Social - Sandra Emlaw; Lunch - Pat York and Maureen Rudd; Skip McCormack is going to give us information about the island where the program "Survivor" was last held.
