Songwriter Christine Graves performs at Mt. Tabor Saturday, Jan. 8" at 8pm Christine Graves, a new County resi- dent, performs her first concert in the County at beautiful Mt. Tabor this Saturday January 8. She is joined by her band members, Pat Giunta and Fred Guignion for an evening of songs in folk-country, folk-rock and jazz flavours. The trio has performed § across Canada to rave reviews. Audi- ences enjoy their casual stage presence and the musicianship they dedicate to the performance. Tickets are still available at Hick's Store and Books on the Bay in Picton for $10 - $15 at the door. Graves' writing and singing has been compared to Joni Mitchell, and Jane Siberry as well as Sarah McLaughlan. She has released three CD's of her compositions and toured nationally. Her songs reflect personal and poignant themes in a universal voice. Her band has performed with Graves since 1998 and recorded her last CD, Stray in 2000. Writing for a new release, Graves is pleased to premiere a few tunes Local Citizens Make Milford Christmas Celebration Another Great Success December 15 saw another successful Commu- nity Christmas Celebration in Milford. About a hundred people gathered around the Christmas tree outside the Post Office to sing carols and decorate the tree. Then the switch was thrown to light the tree to the delight of all. While we waited for the festivities to begin, Karin and Michael Potters of the Milford Bistro, with the help of their daughter Mia and Karin's father, provided hot ci- der. Although the weather cooperated again, hot cider was just the thing needed to keep away some of the De- cember chill. Once the tree was lit, Lynette Pettit led the local Brownies in singing some popular carols and everyone joined in. Two of Santa's elves managed to drop by and handed out Magic Reindeer Food for the children to sprinkle on their lawns on Christmas Eve.
