The ladies met at the South Bay United Church Hall on Wednesday, November 10th, at 1:30 p.m. President San- dra Emlaw read a little story about a lady who received a bouquet of flowers that weren't rightly hers. She deliv- ered them to the rightful owners and received a plant from them which provided good feelings for a long pe- riod of time. Our theme hymn, purpose and our Lord's Prayer were re- peated in unison. Irene Robb's devotional was from Revelations, Chapter 7, verses 9 to 14. (She read from her grandfather's small Bible that was presented to him in the Military in the year 1917) Who are the Saints? We are remembering our spiritual ancestors who taught us integrity by following Christ's example. Faith of Our Fathers was sung, followed by a closing prayer. Sixteen members answered roll call by wearing a poppy in remembrance of all who went to war to ensure that we were able to enjoy our freedom. Sixteen six calls were made. Secretary Maureen Rudd read the minutes of our last meeting. Approved. Correspondence was red and dealt with. Marge Drury moved and Pat York seconded that we give $200.00 for gifts for two older children from the Angel Tree. Carried. Skip McCormack and Irene Robb volun- teered to look after this. Ladies please note - everyone is to bring an unwrapped gift for an older child to our De- cember Meeting. Moved by Marge Drury seconded by Barb Balsillie that we donate $5000. to the Church. Carried. Irene Robb moved and Pat York seconded that we donate $200.00 each to the following organizations: Hospital Foundation, Alternatives for Women, Picton Food Bank, Hospice Prince Edward. As usual we will send a subscription for large print Reader's Digest to Hospital auxiliary. Since one of our large coffee makers has died, Alice Miller moved and Joyce Minker seconded we purchase a new one. Carried. Pat York volunteered to purchase this. All Vendors are local Artists or Groups offering hand crafted items sure to please someone on your gift list and a Cherry Valley Bake Sale is always a must go event. Wed., Dec. 8th - Milford Christmas Seniors Dinner - The Prince Edward County Community Care for Seniors Association is holding a Seniors' Dinner in Milford at the Milford Town Hall, on Wednesday, December 8th at 12 noon. Come out and celebrate Christmas with us, enjoy a holiday meal and caroling accompanied on piano by Heather Ross. Attendance is by reservation only. The cost is $5.00 Call 476-7493 to reserve your place by no later than Tues- day at 12:00 noon. Bring your own plate, cup and cutlery. Wed., Dec. 15" -- Milford's Annual Community Christ- mas. St. Philip's Anglican Church & Milford in Bloom will arrange this popular event again this year. Details will be in the December Mirror. Please start gathering items to use when decorating your barrels & planters for the winter sea- son. Friday, December 3rd - Milford Friendship Circle will meet at the home of Mary Creasy for a pot luck lunch at 12:00 noon. Alice Miller has been volunteered to come up with some interesting entertainment. Ladies - please note the change of date.
