Our purpose and the Lord's Prayer were next. Marge Drury's devotional was taken from 2nd Corinthians Chapter 9 - God gives us so much we can give away. (1) Hand of Love - send a card or letter to someone with difficulties (2) Voice of Love - telephone - a cheerful conversation (3) Deed of Love - give a little gift to someone who needs a lift (4) Heart of Love - list 10 people you will pray for each day (5) Mind of Love - pray for yourseif, read your Bible {6) Victory of Love - admire and thank God for his creations. We closed wiih prayer by all joining hands. May minutes were read and approved and all other business ws attended to. Our Strawberry Social for Saturday, June 22nd was discussed and duties assigned. Our farewell pot luck supper for Reverend Ed and Marilyn Schamerhorn will be on Friday June 28th, at 6:00 p. m. at South Bay for both congregations. Reverend Ed's final service will be at Cherry Valley at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 30th, for both congregations. Our new Minister, Rev. Jean Wilson, will conduct her first service at South Bay at 9:30 am. As there is only one service, Cherry Valley will join us there. At 4:00 p.m. the same day, we will have a covenanting service at Cherry Valley with South Bay attending, followed by a pot luck supper to welcome Reverend Jean. Our card secretary Donna Loney reported sending several cards to members in the community who are ill or have lost loved ones. Joyce Minaker moved and Maureen Rudd seconded that £ we purchase 4 Life Membership pins for our deserving members. Joyce and Floral Minaker will attend to this matter. After some discussions on the price we charge for our suppers, the following motion was passed. Moved by Pat York and seconded by Dodie Dance that we charge $12.00 for adults. Carried. Our fish fry will be held at the church on Wednesday, August 14th, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Moving day for our new minister is Wednesday, July 3rd, with the ladies preparing sandwiches for the movers, Our U.C.W. has been invited to Cherry Valley on Wednesday, June 19th, at 8:00 p.m. Several members are planning to attend. Brenda asked the members to jot down any items they thought should be included. Rita Laramy had the program which stated that we should all have a quiet time for ourselves. In other words - take time to smell the roses. Each lady then told how she made a quiet time for herself. Lunch was then served by Sandra Emlaw and Joyce Minaker and they were thanked by Marge Drury.
