She and I have shared by body. There is a part of her mind that is a part of mine. But when she was born, she sprang from me like a slippery fish, and has been swimming away ever since. (Amy Tan) Merle Evans Thought For The Day was about work is to be strenuously, heartily attended. Barb Balsillie thanked the group on behalf of Ian for the card received. Our ladies received an invitation from Alternatives for Women to attend an appreciation meeting at their headquarters on King Street, on Friday June 21st, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Some members are going as we have supported them for several years. Minutes of previous meeting were read and approved. Roll call was taken - the members brought their wedding pictures and, believe me, they were all beautiful brides. (The grooms weren't to be sneezed at, either). Treasurer Wilma Creasy and card secretary Freda Spice gave their reports and all is being well looked after there. The roster for selling tickets at the quilt show on July 6th and 7th was finalized. We have also been invited to sell tickets at the library book sale on Wednesday, July 3rd - so we are organized for that. The ladies also made the motion that the usual money be given to the Fair Board to be designated as prize money in whatever categories were most needful. The girls enjoyed an auction of "white" articles and brought many treasures. Merle Evans served a delightful lunch to the ladies and was thanked by Marg Crouse.
