The United Church Women met at South Bay Church Hall on Wednesday February 13th at 1:30 p.m. Brenda Minaker opened with this thought:- Each day is a new opportunity to correct the mistakes of yesterday and to deal with the challenges that face us today. Our purpose, theme hymn and The Lord's Prayer followed. Dodie Dance's devotional was based on Luke 12, v. 15 - Life is not based on material things but on the talents of yourself. The minutes of the January meeting were read and their adoption moved by Marge Drury. Carried. Fifteen members answered roll call with 22 sick calls being made. Donna Loney reported sending sympathy and special birthday cards. Robert and Pat York have been doing an excellent Job of keeping fresh plants on the altar and reported having to buy some. - Our collection this month will be a donation to the Heart and Stroke fund. We changed the date for our fish fry to either July 31st or August 14th. (We contacted Bryan McCormack and he verified August 14th.) Clean-up date for the church is set for Tuesday, April 2nd at 9:00 a.m. Bring your lunch. ° Baby sitting dates are set as follows: February 17th - Karen Guernsey, February 24th - Maureen Rudd, March 3rd - Dodie Dance, March 10th - Winona Moran. The ladies moved to give money to the choir to purchase music. The World's Day of Prayer will be at St. Philip's Anglican Church in Milford on Friday, March 1st, at 2:00 p.m. Volunteers to help with the service are Karen Guernsey, Maureen Rudd and Brenda Minaker. [] Sunrise service on Easter Sunday, March 31st will be held at Little Bluff with a light breakfast being served afterwards the church by U.C.W.
