March Break Activities at the Library Are your youngsters looking for something to do during March Break? Check out the special programmes running at some branches of the County of Prince Edward Public Library. At the Ameliasburgh Branch/The Al Purdy Library on Tuesday, March 12 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. children aged 8 and over are invited to come and learn how to do "origami," the ancient Japanese art of paper folding. Make your own animals and other creations out of paper. All materials will be provided. At the Ann Farwell Branch in Milford you can play "Library Bingo" on Tuesday, March 12 from 2-3 p.m. This is a new twist on an old favourite, using book titles instead of numbers. Hardcover books for $1.00, paperbacks and magazine for 25 cents or 5/1.00. Proceed of the sale go to The Friends of the Ann Farwell Library. At the Bloomfield Branch on Thursday, March 14 at 2 p.m. there will be a special presentation by author, Karen Smith. Karen will be reading to the children from her new picture book, "Tom E. Toad." Everyone is wel- come to come and meet this local author. The regular pre-school storytime will be held at the Bloomfield Branch on Thursday at 10:30 a.m., and the chess club (with players of all levels welcome) from 4-5 p.m. on the same day. All March Break programmes at the Picton Branch are for children aged 5-10 and run from 10:30-11:30 am. On Tuesday, March 12 there'll be "Fun with Paper Fold- ing and Cutting." Learn the art of Origami (paper fold- ing-Japan) and Jintan (papercutting-China). Please bring your own scissors. Wednesday, March 13 is Movie Day, featuring "Thumbelina." Thursday, March 14 is "Traditional Games Day." Come to the library to play and learn some games and activities that your parents and # grandparents played when they were children. Friday, & March 15 it's "Leapin' Leprechauns." Come for stories, # crafts and activities with an Irish theme, and don't forget | to be wearing the green!
