Mummers present "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" It's Really No Secret! The Marysburgh Mummers are at it again! The opening production for this season at the Mount Tabor Playhouse is The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. This "unscripted" 3-act comedy is based on a story written by James Thurber. it draws on the creative and performing talents of about 40 adults and young County actors, who are working under the direction of Al Hazell to create and perform a script that emerges from their own imaginings. In the play, Waiter Mitty learns early in fife to use hus daydreams to escape the humdrum of everyday existence. In his adult life, Walter keeps using this mental escape hatch, as the daydreams of youth grow into full-blown fantasies as he "matures". Unlike the movie version, which starred Danny Kaye as an adult Walter Mitty, the Mummers' production features Walter™itty not only as an adult, but also as a youth, and as a teenager. =, Happy Thanksgiving!
