Call 613-476-8072 Women's Institute Sponsoring Water Quality Meeting Dear Sir: We realize from letters to the newspapers that County residents are concerned about their drinking water. Many of us, not feeling safe using our own well water, buy bottled water, especially during the summer months. We wonder how many people have not checked out their own septic systems in years. Everyone who has doubts about the safety of the ground water here, in the County, and who wants to be better informed about what is being done, at present, as well as what is planned for the fu- ture, and what we as individuals can do ourselves, will have the opportunity to gather some facts at the public meeting on Wednesday, October 11th, at 7:00 pn. of The Community Centre, Picton. The Prince Edward District of the Women's Institute has arranged for a panel of experts to bring information and to answer questions about our water. Bev Campbell, a Picton resident, will moderate the meeting. The panel members will be from the County Water Department, Quinte Conservation, The Hastings & Prince Edward County Health Board, The Organic Farmers, The Farm Task Force on nutrient Management, and The Provincial 'Ministry of the Environment. Admission is $2.00 to cover the cost of the hall rental. We hope to have a large crowd, so please note October 11th, 7:00 p.m. Yours Sincerely, Joan Laurie Member, Education Committes, Prince Edward District Women's Institute
