ATTENTION: ART LOVERS IN THE COUNTY Mark Tuesday, November 9, on your calendar when there will be a general meeting of the Prince Ed- ward Arts Council in Bloomfield Town Hall at 7pm to elect a new executive for the Council and present a round table discussion about the role of the arts council. Whether you are a member or not, please come out. The goal of this meeting is to increase member- ship in the Council, maintain the continuity of existing events such as Art in the County and discuss how the Council can better support artists, writers, performers and audiences in Prince Edward County by reaching out into new activities. Recent newspaper articles and meetings held in September and October have generated considerable ex- citement and interest within the community. Several peo- ple have already volunteered to help with such activities as fundraising, membership and publicity and the art show. Others have put their names forward for positions on the executive--nominations for these positions will re- main open up to the meeting time on November 9. As 1s the case with many organizations in the county, volunteers are the driving force of the Prince Ed- ward Arts Council - without them there can be no council. We need ideas and energy in order to continue and flour- ish. Please demonstrate your support by showing up at the meeting on November 9 and taking out a membership in the Council. Current fult members are eligible to vote or stand for office; new members can purchase memberships that evening and vote or stand for office. There will be refreshments and Nick Doornbos has kindly agreed to entertain us on the classical quitar. There also will be a door prize donated by Books on the Bay.
