CH Exile - Continued from page 2 "I'd always wanted to do something with the Loyalist story." says Kellough, "and | knew | wanted to work with Suzanne again on an artistic level. An adjunct to that 1s the fact that [ have very deep Loyalist roots while through another branch of the family, 1 qualify to be a Daughter of the American Revolution. When | approached Suzanne about the show, she inforined me that her family had been in America since the 1600's and that she was also DAR. | figured we had two really authentic voices to tell the story." After the other performers were approached, more Loyalist connections turned up. "It turns out that Tom Leighton is from a New Brunswick Loyalist family and Lori Farrington is from a County Loyalist family," Pasternak says. "We're researching everybody else's family trees right now to see where else we can find connections. And Janet and | are convinced that we're actually long-lost cousins!" Whether Loyalist or not. the audience will find "Exile" an absorbing, poignant and above all entertaining treatment of a significant chapter in Canada's history. "We're enormously grateful to the Bay of Quinte Branch of the United Empire Loyalist Association, as well as several individuals within that organization, who provided funding to develop the script," Kellough says. "They saw the educational value of the show right away, and we all agree that that we need to explore opportunities for taking "Exile" to schools across Ontario."
