Gillian Parker gave some mini-sermons on what life is about for Thought for the Day. Eleven members answered roll call telling what they were thankful for - the main ones being family, friends, health and a peaceful country in which to live. The September minutes were red by Alice Miller in the absence of secretary June - their adoption moved by Eleanor Forbes seconded by Mary Parsons. Treasurer Wilma Creasy reported our finances and how much was made from selling quilt tickets. Our card secretary, Freda Spice, was busy sending out sympathy, get well and thinking of you cards. It was moved by Mary Creasy and seconded by es 'Fall Selection of RAMES, SUNGLASSE CONTACT LENSES CANN-W00D OPTICAL Gillian Parker that we pay our bills. Carried. Our float, "Mary had a little lamb", won first in the Milford Fair parade. Our prize of oil change, filter and lube was voted to go to Clifford and Ruth Vancott for the use of their truck and chauffeuring for us. Mary Parsons made this motion, seconded by Marg Purcell and everyone heartily agreed. Thank you cards are to be sent out by our secretary to various people who were helpful with our float and selling quilt tickets. Our Autumn Harvest Tea was discussed with tables to be set up on Friday night, October 16th, at 7:00 p.m. Everyone is to bring bazaar items, home baking, touch and take, white elephant and garden produce. Margaret Crouse donated a wall hanging on which to sell tickets. Our tea is Saturday, October 17th, at Milford Town Hall from 1:30 to 4:30. Madam Lazonga will be there once again to tell your fortunes by tea leaves. We would like everyone to remember this is just for fun and not to be taken seriously. The library quilt, Ribbons and Roses (donated by the Friendship Circle) will also be there and the draw will take place at 3:00 p.m. The ladies decided to have their"day out on the town" on Tuesday, October 27th, at 12:30 at Glenbridge.
