President Jean Burrows welcomed the eighteen ladies with her gem "Good old day start with good new days - like today". Some very embarrassing moments were shared in answer to the roll call. "The Origin of Valentine's Day" was given by Muriel Rorabeck as the thought for the day. Minutes of the January meeting were read by Muriel Rorabeck. Collection, membership dues, birthday offering and treats for happiness were collected. Thank you letters received from June Miller, Wanita Gillie, Almost Home, and the Salvation Army were read. Report of get-well and sympathy cards sent was given by Freda Spice. The Treasurer's report was given by Margaret Drury. Mary Parson moved and Shirley McCaw seconded that we pay all outstanding bills quilting supplies, fruit basket, and gifts for 4H members. During the business session Jean Burrows brought & us up to date about the accessible transportation meeting where plans were made to include Prince Edward wards in their scheduled services on a user-pay project. Some information concerning a suggested bus tour were given but not accepted. The autographed quilt will be quilted as soon as possible and tickets sold to members only will be drawn from. Margery Drury. on behalf of the Circle members, had given 4H Club members gifts at their awards night for their completed projects. We accepted the responsibility for catering Murray and Leona Head's 40th Wedding Anniversary. Quilt tickets for sale on the quilt to be drawn at Milford Fall Fair were given out. March 2nd will be the next day for the friendship quilts - the eight single bed quilts that have been made this year will be given to Garratt's Island Farm reTreat and the large quilts will be given to the Salvation Army Social Services in Picton. To keep a photograph album of the Circle's events was thought to be a good idea. Secret Pals mames were drawn for 1998. 1997 Secret Pals were revealed with a Valentine card or gift. Alice Miller conducted a number of candies in the jar contest which was won by Freda Spice.
