i ---------- J td Reader Alert! Have you read any good books lately? You have. Good. Did you get them from a library? Which one? Did you know that a library card from the Ann Farwell Library is good anywhere in the County including the Ann Farwell Library? Did you know that libraries survive on their cost per member? You do now. So get a library card. Not just any library card but one from the Ann Farwell Library. Get one for every member of your household that reads. The Ann Farwell Library needs your support not in financial terms although your membership translates mto cost per member, but of you as a member. Having a library card 1s a good lesson in responsibility for youngsters so get one for your children as well and let them be responsible for their own books, their own date of return and their own library fines if they miss that date. Why shouted we ------ a Hhny when there is so much available on computers? I have yet to see anyone sitting under a tree, eating a sandwich and reading a good computer. Books are portable. can be read anywhere and don't need a power source. Books don't have to be disconnected during a thunder storm. They can even make you forget there is a thunder storm. Books are great to go to bed with and if you go to sleep with one in your hand it won't suffer fatal damage if it falls on the floor. So get a membership. I'm reading "Emma" to our dog Nicki. I don't think that qualifies her for a membership but I'm sure she's hoping I'll soon get a different book. She keeps falling asleep when I read this one. I thought of reading her "Beautiful Joe's Paradise" next. I'm sure the library has a copy. The dog ate mine. - Bev Walker Don't forget to register with the new County of Prince Edward Public Library.
