= 'The South Marysburgh Mirror MILFORD COMMUNITY FRIENDSHIP CIRCLE NOTES Milford Community Friendship Circle ladies held their April meeting in the South Marysburgh Township Hall. Jean Burrows, Vice-President, welcomed the sixteen members with the gem "We fear things in proportion to our ignorance of them." Mary Creasy gave the thought for the day "Live each day to the full". Roll call was answered by giving an interesting "Did you know that!" Minutes of the March Meeting were read by the secretary, June Miller. Collection, membership dues, birthday offering and treats for Happiness were received for the Christian Children's fund. Treasurer's report was given by Wilma Creasy. Card report was given by Shirley McCaw. The correspondence included thank-you cards. Two notes of appreciation came from Mothers who had received quilts, from the Picton Salvation Army, which had been made by the Friendship Circle ladies. One lady said "I only had two blankets in the house and with me and the two children they did not go around. Some nights it got pretty cold." Another lady said "we re re-building our family and the quilts were an added bonus for my husband and I and three children." A turkey pot-luck supper was arranged for all the ladies who had helped in any way to make the nineteen quilts for the needy. It was moved by Peigi Brown and seconded by Mary Creasy, that all out-standing bills be paid. Those who volun- teered to help with the township trash-bash on April 27th, were given their area to be picked up. Tickets for the quilt will be on sale. Arrangements are being made for the Milford area to re- ceive visitors during the September Amazing Loyalist Parkway County Adventure. Linda Jackson, Prince Edward County Chapter co- ordinator, of the Alzheimer's Society, spoke to us about what Alzheimer's disease is and what it is not. It is a progressive degenerative disease that attacks the brain. It is the most common form of dementing illness. Alzheimer's is not a normal part of aging. There is no known cause or cure. She encouraged us not to shy away from our friends who fe afflicted and to encourage care givers to contact the Picton office to learn of support groups. Linda was thanked by Alice Miller. The hostesses, Mary Creasy and Doris Minaker, were thanked for their delicious lunch by Muriel Rorabeck. - Muriel Rorabeck, Press Reporter Th! | | =~" Modern, waterfront units with fireplace, deck, BBQ & TV 3 and 4 bedroom 4-pc. bath -- Good Fishing & _ Swimming = -- 1 -- | = EE =] | -- , | Come to view these cottages in a quiet area on the Wil-O-Lea Road north side of the Morrison Point Road or call (613) 393-1412 1 aBAU COOH = IPLRRIRTNTLAST 01191 1p ®ln [MIT ITY CLOTHING ALTERATIONS Pant Hem $ 7.00 - 10.00 at Free pick up or delivery within Picton, Milford and Cherry Valley Clothes must be clean Call Vicki at A7I6-"T169
