The South Marysburgh Mirror Friendship Quilts Made for Homeless On Thursday, January 25th, the Milford Township Hall was a beehive of activity as the Friendship Circle ladies gathered to make quilts for the homeless. Everyone came with bags of material, sheets, chenille bedspreads, old blankets, and anything that could be sewn together for warmth for quilts. All the tables in the hall were put to use for laying out tops, bottoms and fillers. Several sewing machines were purring a happy song as the pieces came together. Further camaraderie was shared by the ladies as they partook of lunch together. By about mid afternoon two generous sized quilts were completely finished and two more just needed the finishing touches. We enjoyed our togetherness in the construction of this worthwhile project and had so much material left over that we are doing it all again on Monday, January 29th. Any quilts that we make will be given to the homeless street people in one of our Canadian cities. To prove the warmth of our products, we had some of our members demonstrate their usefulness on the streets of Milford. Anyone who is interested in this project may lend a hand. Just contact any Friendship Circle member for further information. A Baroque Valentine Concert The Akademy of St. Martin-in-the-Basement MT. TABOR PLAYHOUSE | 1B a |} | | Milford, Ont.
