Khe 2008 The South Marysburgh Mirror On September 15th, the Prince Edward Arts Council presented "Words are Music" at Picton Town Hall. This event featured poetry and prose readings by Al Purdy, Steven Heighton and Louise O'Donnell, as well as a musical contribution by local favourites, the Frere Brothers. As the sponsor for this show it's my pleasure to report that the show was a sell-out with approximately 150 people in attendance. I'll take this opportunity to express my thanks to the Arts Council for the energy and enthusiasm they put into organizing, promoting and staging "Words Are Music". At Books On The Bay, we are greatly encouraged by the response to this reading and hope to present another reading as early as this November. Two authors have expressed an interest in coming to the County to show off their literary talents: Russell Smith, author of the novel "How Insensitive", which was short-listed for the Governor General's Award Po -- oy ---- DAVID AND BARBARA SWEET 182 Main Street, Picton, Ontario 613-476-3037 KOK 2T0 last year; and Terry Griggs whose first book, "Quickening", a collection of short stories, was also short-listed for the Governor General's Award.
