Don King, of Picton, one of the surviving members of that revival will perform in this concert as well. It was such a success that several more performances were held to accommodate those who were turned away from the door at preceding concerts. The Shantyman"s Concert is being revived a second time, under the production of Suzanne Pasternak and Janet Keliough. The production includes six Canadian folklorists, heritage researchers and a historian and represents a highly talented collaboration as all are actively involved in the performing arts. Among the talents being showcased at this event will be a young step-dancing champion, Janice Lambert, from Kingston, step-dancing always being a part of a social evening of this kind. Also a part of such an event was story telling, and this concert wili be no different, with Janet Kellough and Marilyn Hymus presenting a revised version of some of their comedy skits that were introduced at the Macauley Heritage Park in the Living History Series. Also on hand to entertain with storytelling of the exaggerated kind, will be Dave Taylor and Rob Kellough having a Liar's Contest. Mark Despauit and Zeke iazurek, who are both familiar to the local audience will sing and play some of the traditional logging songs of the day. They will be joined by percussionist, Steve Fruitman and his washboard and "tit fer'. (And if you don't recognize one of the other of these instruments, you'll have to come to see what they are, won't you?) The continuity will be provided by Suzanne Paster- nak in story and original song. Just to pique your curiosity further, there wili be surprise guest, appearing to sing. This individual will be easily recognized, having gained some notoriety in the past few years. All this will take piace in Mount Tabor Playhouse, the evening of March 27th, at 8 of the clock. Tickets available at: The door, Audio Vision, City Revival in Picton, and Hicks' General Store, in Milford.
