President Sandra opened with a befitting anecdote about grandmothers (since most of us fit this category). Grand- mothers come in all shapes and sizes but they all have something in common. They all have a great capacity for love.We faithfully reminded ourselves of our pur- pose by repeating our theme hymn, purpose and The Lord's Prayer. Irene's devotional was taken from a book by Joyce Rupp who is a spiritual midwife among other titles. A poem "A Remnant of Resurrection" likens our spiritual rebirthing to the slow greening and coming alive of the plants in springtime. Eighteen members made roll call very interesting with their various articles for show and tell. Included were: a centennial program for the South Bay service for 1972; a picture from the 50's showing the many children who attended Bible School at Milford United Church; blouse om Mexico, a simple and cool child's summer dress made by the craft group and a book stating the official tules of card games by Hoyle published in 1922 - the 26th edition. Twenty-six sick calls were made and three cards sent from the grot The minutes ‘Of the March meeting were accepted as read. Treasurer Joyce brought us up to date on our finances. UCW voted to pay half to send four campers to Camp Quin-Mo-Lac this summer; we will donate four quarter- ly amounts of $200 each to M & S; and $4,000 to the church with more later as needed.
