Walking Tour and Statue Unveiling Friday afternoon June 6th the students from Athol will be the frst group to follow Milford’s Bicentennial walking tour. Starting at Headlands Farm where the Mast Road reached the village boundary, the students will learn our early history as they follow the course that the trees were hauled to our one remaining mill. Wilbur Miller’s team, pulling a period log wagon, will add an authentic ele- ment to the celebration. When the group arrives at the Post Office, the new statue of the Milford Miller will be unveiled. Ice cream for the students is being provided by The Bean Counter and Pure County Bottled Water will have water bottles with the Milford 200 Bicentennial Logo for the walkers. Additional walkers welcome or just come to the Post Office for the unveiling where the South Marysburgh students will join the tour. Family Fun Cycling - Continued from page 6 Memorial Hospital Foundation. Youth races around the mill pond (ages 4 to 14) with age appropriate distances will begin at noon Saturday. Time trials, for riders 10 years of age and older (with age appropriate distances - 2 km to 21 km) will go off from late afternoon to sundown Saturday. One must preregister to ride. Preregister at www.ontariocycling.org. Headquarters for the cycling will be at the Milford Fair Sh1ed. Local vendors will be there with delicious food, drinks, snacks, and treats for the crowd. That is bound to have some impact on our local traffic but road closures are mini- mal. They are called rolling road closures and effect any section of the course for about the same amount of time as a traffic light as the pack passes in between police escorts.
